Dialog: The Starting Point, the Common Ground


Subhorup of Subho's Jejune Diet dislikes sentimental goey stuff. But I am sentimental about him as a person and as a writer and as a blogger.

He fulfills the imagination I have when I dream of being acquainted with great writers and poets like Yeats and Emerson and Premchand. He lives and breathes his writings.

His writings, more so his poems have a spectacular depth. It brings me back to senses--on what writing/thinking is all about. I realize how much I have to improve in terms of writing when I read his pieces.

Blogging isn't just vomiting in an online space. It is an art to write, to interact with readers, to use technology smartly, and to remain adhered to your values. I take my inspiration from his blogging habits--gentle, smart and yet so sure.

So when Subhorup asked me to write a guest post for him--I was mostly petrified, insecure, worried that I wouldn't match up to his blog or to him. Yet, I wrote because that is the only way to grow. Here is the post I finally wrote:
