Technically speaking this blog is one year
old. But in reality, I took up blogging seriously only since March 2012.
Yet of all the posts that I have written, my first post remains my favorite, for
I wrote it when I had just returned to India. Why? The phrase “return to Motherland”
simply did not make the cut for me. I wanted a relationship with her that was
appropriate for me as a woman and hence this article "Why I hesitate to call my country Motherland?". After I wrote it, I was driven by an
urge to share it and hence this blog!

But since I did not know anything about
blogging at that time, not many have read this piece, which may I state again,
IS my favourite post of all times! Do read it
here:-
A note to my readers: I have been long
wanting to see India beyond her cities. To visit her villages, to discover that
80% population who remain outside my purview of interaction. I get to do that
now. I had initially thought I would be able to update and respond to comments
by readers occasionally. But as my travel picks up speed and depth—I break
through South and move to North India this week, unceasingly till Aug 3rd
week, through villages in Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bengal and Odisha—I realize
that it is difficult.
So I apologize to my readers for not
responding to some of the previous comments, personal emails and other
notifications. I am also sorry I will not be able to visit several of your
blogs which I cherish. I promise to make up when I return.
Some of you have requested to follow me on
other social media platforms. Here are the links:

While travelling, I tweet more than I
